Barcodes

I have posted this post (you will get what I mean) to help anyone who may be looking for something different ;-))

This might seem an unusual title, but read on, and you will learn why I have wrote about this.

In today’s world people consider their time very precious, often too precious to carry out simple tasks like typing a web address (or a URL (Universal Resource Locator to give the proper name for it)), so how could you help that busy person find your website ?

Many of you will undoubtedly seen things like this in magazines:

which, when scanned with barcode readers, found on many of today’s smartphones, will take you to various websites (try the one above).

One idea, for those looking for something different on a business card, would be to include one of these on your business card that would direct a potential client to your website.

On the site below:

you can enter your web address in the box and a script will generate a unique barcode for you, in varying sizes, as either a PNG (Portable Network Graphic) or JPEG, which when used as suggested above may give you an edge above someone who simply has their website on their business card.

On tip though is that laser printers produce a more crisp image than inkjet printers, so even though they might not work on a card that you have printed at home, on a professionally printed card these should work better.  Again look at the different sized images available to prevent shrinking down a larger image only to have problems later.

Hope this helps.
